Original CHRISTOFLE Silver Flower Holder or ‘Pique Fleurs’.
This item is both useful and decorative. Cut flowers fitted into the holes in the Glass interior which is then filled with water, this makes for a stunning table arrangement yet small enough so as not to impede Table conversation.
This is an early, heavy Model of Christofle and not seen very often. Early Christofle piece circa 1930-40 made in France at a time when Quality was paramount.
The silver base tray is made from silver plated metal and is stamped “Gallia” along with the Gallia hallmark.
Marked with the “knight” chess figure in a square box between two letters “O” and “C” (which is the abbreviation of the two words “ORFÈVRERIE CHRISTOFLE”).
The glass part is stamped “Made in France” on the underside
